Side By Side Comparison of 75" TV and 65" TV
Flat screen TV’s mounted on your walls are a great way to make your home look great while providing never ending entertainment to you and your family. However, installing the wrong size TV’s can make your viewing experience not so great as well as the look and feel of the room your TV is mounted in.
Bigger Is Not Always Better
When it comes to selecting a screen size for your TV most people automatically think the bigger the better. In a lot of cases this can be true. But in some, a little smaller is actually better. Such as when a TV is being mounted above a fireplace.
75″ TV Above Fireplace
We had a customer that purchased a 75″ TV that he wanted installed above his fireplace. After we mounted the TV the end result was not what we wanted. As you can see in the picture above, the TV was a little too wide and much too tall. The top didn’t actually cover the top window sill but no matter where you were in the room it looked as if it did. It actually looked like the TV was higher than the window sill and covering up some of it. We recommended, to the customer, that he let us install a slightly smaller TV such as a 65″ instead.
65″ TV Above Fireplace
After the customer agreed to allowing us to swap the bigger TV with a smaller (just 10 inches smaller) one we took the 75″ one down and then put up the 65″ TV in its place. As you can see by the picture above, just 10 inches smaller made quite a difference. The TV now fits evenly above the fireplace and it does not look like it’s covering up any part of the top window.
