Google Chromecast Allows You To Put A TV In Any Room Without The Need For Running Wires
Google Chromecast plugs into your TV’s HDMI port. Simply use your device and the TV you own to stream TV shows, movies, games and more. Chromecast works with iPhone®, iPad®, Android phone and tablet, Mac® and Windows® laptop and Chromebook.
With Google Chromecast you can mount a TV in any room or place in or around your home using Chromecast, a WiFi connection, and your phone, tablet, or smart device. That’s it. No need to run Cat5 wires, cable TV wires, or any other kind of wiring.
– Google Chromecast
You can get one (or more) pretty cheap at Best Buy for around $35.
– A WiFi Network
You will need to have an internet services provider with a WiFi router. If you have internet service there’s a good chance that you probably already have it.
– Smart Device
To stream with Chromecast you can use your Android or Apple phone, tablet, or any other smart device that allows you to connect to the internet via WiFi.
– Electrical Outlets
You should have two electrical outlets near the place where you will have your TV. One for the TV and one for the Chromecast. You can plug the Chromecast in the USB of your TV, if it has one, but it is recommended that you use a dedicated outlet for the best performance.
– Streaming Content
So you will actually have something to watch on your new TV, you will need an account to stream movies and shows. NetFlix is a good place to start. You get thousands of movies for around $9.95 per month, depending on the type of account you sign up for. There is also Hulu which has improved very much lately. I would not recommend Sling TV as it is a very slow streaming service. You can see my review of Sling TV here.
